No Country for Old Men is a 2007 film adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s novel of the same name, written and directed by Joel and Ethan Coen. Production started in May 2006 on location in Texas and New Mexico. The title of the film is from the first line of W. B. Yeats’ poem “Sailing to Byzantiumâ€.
The film first screened in competition at the Cannes Film Festival on May 19, 2007. The film opened in limited release in the United States on November 9, 2007, and will have a wide release in the United States on November 21, 2007. The film will be released in the United Kingdom on January 18, 2008.
