Anderson (Jason Biggs) has given up on love following the end of his relationship with the perfect girl. Dared by his best friend Ted (Michael Weston) to get back in the saddle during breakfast at a local diner, Anderson proposes to the first girl he sees: Katie (Isla Fisher), their waitress, who is looking to escape from a passionless future with her orthodontist boyfriend. To Anderson’s surprise, Katie says yes, and their lives will never be the same. Over the next couple of days, Anderson and Katie move in together, meet each other’s friends and parents, reveal their charms and flaws in their dizzying pursuit of love at first sight that culminates in a cross-country odyssey in a stolen car.
