What puzzles me is why the DEViSE version is in sync (at least that's what most of the posts I've seen concerning it seem to suggest, although I thought I read somewhere a couple of comments about there being OOS issues) and this version isn't. Haven't downloaded the DEViSE TS yet to see what's different (I did download a sample though, and it's 25FPS--same as PrisM's). I just assumed, since it uses the same video and audio as PrisM, that it'd be OOS as well. Maybe that's not the case. If not, I'd be curious to know exactly what PrisM did to either the video and/or the audio to bring about the OOS issues.

Nathan, I'd be interested in knowing how you make out with VirtualDub (or, if you decide to try @44 Anonymous's suggestion, changing the framerate).

As for me, I've seen enough of this movie for today.

No need for reencoding. Just replace the fps with 24.991 instead of 25.000 (with avi framerate changer).

Unfortunately, it's not quite as simple as muxing Devise's (STG/Fatal's) audio with PrisM's video and applying a single universal plus-or-minus audio offset compensation value. The problem is Fatal's audio was originally synced to a totally different video source (Gamer CAM XviD-TheStash). Fatal's multiple sync fixes were in differing values of thousands of milliseconds (VD's 200ms max probably isn't going to be able to cover the range of compensation necessary to bring it back). Add to that the fact that the OOS issues are not uniform throughout (i.e. one section might require +300ms, while the next sways in the other direction an equal if not greater amount).

I can say this with a good degree of certainty because I'm in the final stages of fixing the sync on this release. Should be ready in a few hours.

While @41 wild wild west is correct in stating that VLC can apply audio desynchronization compensation, note you'll have to do it multiple times (during playback) with different values (again, it's not as simple as applying one positive or negative offset and having it apply to the entire movie). Also, if you wish to burn the file to disc, VLC cannot (AFAIK) apply multiple values to individual sections, so, as far as that's concerned, it's pretty much useless.

While on the subject of sync fixes, here's a few you probably haven't seen:

District 9 R5 LiNE XviD 1000th RLS-DEViSE

audio filtered, sync fix
English subbed (letterbox)

DEViSE audio reencoded to 192kbps@48KHz mp3 CBR, with increased gain and slightly boosted midrange. In sync throughout. Unlike KAMERA's audio, there's no crackling/distortion during the loudest passages. All hardcoded subtitles reside in a 50-pixel black letterbox beneath the image area.

http://sharenload.com/umb82jqlrgv4/d9r5dvsmod2.avi.html

G I Joe The Rise Of The Cobra TS XVID – STG – FATAL

audio sync fix
corrected AR: 720x336 (not 720x318 as the nfo states) -> 720x296

Original release used the same video source as G I Joe The Rise of Cobra [2009] TELESYNC XVID-PrisM and G I Joe Rise Of The Cobra 2009 FiLTERED TS v2-FUSiON (the source without the recurring autofocus issues), adding slight cropping (all sides), a bit more filtration, bad AR and much-improved direct-line sound. Unfortunately, there were OOS issues throughout.

The Taking of Pelham 123 TS XVID READ NFO-STG

Why are all the telesync copies latley...and I meen all....wavey on the screen....dark...light...dark...light...dark...light.

A friend told me this is probably due to the cams auto adjust setting for either focus or light being turned on while filming. Apparientally if this is de-activated while filming this will stop this "flashing" or "wavey" effect seen on screen.

I would of thought these guys..being film piraters would know what they are doing when filming something.

Bring back "Maven" copies anyday!!
